I have been working as a Project Manager based in the HR Office at Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) with primary responsibility for managing the Institute’s Human Resource (HR) and Payroll software applications and processes. I also provide Business Intelligence reporting for the functional area as well as maintaining the HR web and intranet pages and content.
Before that I held positions in Project Management, Implementation and Training at Core International and Musgraves Ltd. I lived in Belgium for over two years ffrom 1995 to 1997 where I worked as a Project Assistant and later as Information Coordinator at the European Organisation for Testing and Certification, Brussels. I have also worked for three years as International Program Coordinator for Starwood Worldwide Reservations based in Cork.
In 1992, I graduated from University College Cork (UCC) with an Hons degree in European Studies, Spanish and Italian. I spent one year at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain.
On completion of my studies I took up a position in Madrid, Spain as a TEFL certified English Language teacher before returning to Cork to take up a position through Spanish with ITT Sheraton (now Starwood). I went on to work as part of their database management group, and international program coordinator as well as managing a reservation centre in Bahrain on an interim basis.
In 2001, I obtained national certification in Information Technology Support Technician at CIT. I am currently completing a Masters degree in Public Relations with New Media and have special interests in internal communications, employee engagement and communication technologies.
